Because Sometimes,
It Takes More Than A Village.

It Takes A State.

OUR WHY: Around 552 children are diagnosed with childhood cancer each year in the state of Ohio.

The Journey:

  • In 2018, our founder started a collaborative of central Ohio childhood cancer organizations and named it "Non-Profit's United." Roundtables, text threads, and group messages helped the non-profits better support one another and the families they served.

  • In 2020 (aka COVID), the number of families needing emotional and financial support surged. Local nonprofits began to partner across their service areas, pulling funds to provide families with necessities.

  • In 2024, inspired by all the incredible work happening on a state level (and within the 6 children's hospitals in Ohio), the group decided to grow and become a collaborative that not only directly supports the families impacted, but also works to make the future brighter through advocacy and research. A small team of nonprofit leaders agreed to volunteer and chair this collaborative.

  • Knowing that this was the new attack plan, the group decided to rename 'Non-Profits United' to Ohio Fights Childhood Cancer Collaborative (OFC3). After all, we want to make it clear. We are coming for you childhood cancer. We are ready for the fight.

No longer will we fight as a village. We will fight as a state.
